About Jim Booth Art
Our mission is to share the paintings of Jim Booth with our community to do some good with art by sharing all net sales with local and national charities.
A message from Jim’s oldest daughter Tracey on her vision to celebrate the enduring legacy of her father’s art:
“After my Dad passed away in 2021, I was comforted and inspired by the stories shared with me by so many people about the impacts of his art, whether it was a sense of peace from the beach or energy from a storm scene or a nostalgia about a particular place and time. Connecting with people through art is what my Dad strived in his 40+ years of painting to accomplish! Inspired by these shared stories and recalling my Dad’s own stories, I would like to honor his life’s work by publishing a book that captures the connections he made, the exciting and challenging adventure of a self-taught artist, the paintings, and some other interesting and fun details. I would also like to expand my parents’ legacy of giving back to our community by donating all net proceeds of book and art sales and donations of artwork itself to benefit non-profit organizations. I hope existing Jim Booth collectors and those yet to discover his work will join me to do some more good with art!”
Thank you and welcome from founder Tracey Booth
Hi. I am Jim’s oldest daughter Tracey. Thank you so much for supporting my Dad’s work at some point in his 40 + years of painting, or for your interest now! When my Dad passed away in June 2021, he had many goals still to accomplish and many things still to share. I am hopeful that you will be a part of his final work of art.
During the time I worked with my parents in the gallery, I had the joy of hearing so many of your stories describing how a particular print of his made you feel, whether it was a sense of peace from the beach or energy from a storm scene or a nostalgia about a particular place and time. That connection with you – that ability to connect with people through art – is what Dad always strived to accomplish. You became a part of the painting by sharing your story.
Dad wanted his final creation to be a book of all of his paintings. To complete this book, I would like to add your stories – the impacts of his lifetime of painting – to his stories to memorialize and communicate the gift of his art.
Our Mission
To recognize, share, and reflect the beauty and goodness of life – the gift of glory - as revealed in the paintings of Jim Booth.
There are three main ways we hope to keep doing some good with Jim’s art:
- We will be collecting, connecting and communicating stories of experiences with Jim Booth’s paintings by his community of supporters by publishing a book of Jim’s paintings and their stories. You can share your stories of Jim or his paintings now - click here to find out how!
By Sharing Connections
By Sharing Art
We will begin to share Jim’s art in these initial ways:- We will offer a collection of published and unpublished original paintings for sale for the first time in decades! Remember, all net proceeds from these sales will benefit non-profit organizations!
- We will loan some of his original paintings with partner locations throughout the community so that more people can enjoy them. If your organization is interested in a partnership, please contact me.
- We will donate or wholesale reproductions (prints or posters) so that his work is seen in new organizations and businesses throughout the Lowcountry and South Carolina. Net proceeds of any sales will be donated to charity. We will not be selling reproductions to retail customers as this is already offered elsewhere online. If you know of an organization who could benefit from Jim's art, please contact me.
- All net proceeds from sales of paintings, prints, posters and book will be donated to charity. Please see our News & Events page for updates on our donations.

Why The Name, Glory By Booth?
“Glory” is the last word of Jim’s last painting, “Sea Island Glory,” and describes what we believe to have been Jim’s mission as an artist – to recognize, reflect, and communicate the beauty and goodness of life. We hope that sharing Jim’s art and our connections with each other will help lift us up and give us strength to face the challenges now and those to come. In a letter to artists, Pope John Paul II wrote of the importance of art’s representation of beauty: “This world in which we live needs beauty in order not to sink into despair. Beauty, like truth, brings joy to the human heart and is that precious fruit which resists the erosion of time, which unites generations and enables them to be one in admiration!”

Why the Name, “Glory by Booth?”
“Glory” is the last word of the title of Jim’s last painting, and describes what I believe to have been Jim’s mission – to give Glory to God. God gave Jim the gift of awareness to uniquely see the beauty and goodness in the world for what it is - a reflection of who God is. Jim shared this awareness of God’s glory through his paintings, connecting us all with the gifts of beauty and goodness we’ve been given in the world and in each other. Following Jim’s death, we are continuing to share the light his work has brought to so many.
